    Default crank sensor resistance M60b30

Would someone please confirm the spec for crank sensor on an M60?
Bentley states 1280 ohms for M50/60 and 540 ohm for M20/30
The one on my M60 is dead nuts 540. Too much of a coincedence for me.
Will someone tell me if this another Bentley typo before I spend $$ replacing good parts?

The Bentley M60 CPS spec was wrong. If I remember correctly it is 540 Ohms. The Pelican site has an entry to this. Search it.

    Thanks. I thought so
FYI The Bentley spec for the M60 ICV is also wrong, learned that one the hard way. The spec given for the M20/30 is the M60 spec. Don't know if it's correct for the M20/30

You can't trust this value even if it's well within range. A few years ago I had a problem with a '93 318i that would cut off at 3250 RPM when warm, as if hitting the rev limiter. Test after test with a multimeter confirmed all sensors were good. As a last resort I took it to the dealer. They start suspecting everything from cams out of timing to corrupt ECU. A week later, they consult the guru in new jersey and discover the crankshaft sensor leaking voltage. The resistance of the thing was dead center.

If the symptoms match a bad CPS, try a known good used one, despite what the resistance is.
