Winfred added later this comment:

it only covered about half of the problems, the lift motor for the front of the seat is usually loose and this allows play between the gears, loosen the two 10mm nuts one at a time and pry the motor up (i think, it's been a while) and tighten then do the other nut, you can do this in the car
