    Default rear hatch

    Hey Guys,

The rear hatch lock on my 525it won't catch. Has anybody else had this problem and how did you fix it.

    Thanks,

    Edward

When this happened to me, it was a piece of plastic that had fallen down inside the catch mechanism from a broken clip in the tailgate.

Open the tailgate as high as it'll go and give it a good shake around/battering for a while and see if anything drops out of the mechanism!

I had the same problem on my old touring. I had to undo the bolts that hold the catch to the boot floor and adjust the catch until it caught the lock properly. When I bought the car it was like this but I have no idea what caused it as the bolts looked like they had never been touched.
