3M Fuel system cleaner .. the one that you have to attach to the fuel rail and run the engine off of (unplugging the fuel pump relay) works very very well. The whole "water doesn't compress" thing does work, but M60/M62's are too expensive to replace in a worst case scenario.

Sounds okay to me, lots of fans of Seafoam around too. Plain water will also remove some carbon deposits.

I always just put a hose on a light, but wide spray pattern and kept the engine revved up a bit while I sprayed it into the venturi at the front of the AFM. I know some guys use transmission fluid, but I wonder what that does to the catalytic converter.

seafoam works very, very well. Have yet to use it on my bimmer, but used it on my other cars and it's great.

Agree on the Seafoam use. Works better than anything else I've ever tried.

well it goes inside the combustion chamber and evaporates with the gasses, as long as youre not pouring bucket loads of water in!!
