Default 7 series Wheel & Tire Fitment Guide

What we need is a comprehensive guide to fitment of wheels & tires to 7 series models, specifically E32s. Please contribute your input to the size that you have personal experience with, noting the following details in a similar format so that others can be assured of success. If this works as a good summary, it can be done for other models as well.

    Year and model (i.e. E32 1990 750iL)

    Front Wheel diameter x width (i.e. 18x8.5), offset (i.e. Et15, 15mm, etc), tire width and aspect ratio (i.e. 235/45).
Results (i.e. slight rubbing of strut tower, no problem, etc)

Rear Wheel diameter x width (i.e. 18x9.5), offset (i.e. Et 15, 15mm, etc), tire width and aspect ratio (i.e. 265/35).
Results (i.e. rubs inside of outer fender, will not work, etc)

From this, a matrix can be developed to benefit all. Thanks.

nothing has been more discussed than this. Do a search here
    http://www.bimmerboard.com/forums/e32/
Or click on my website below, there is a link to Bruno's site, click there under wheel and tire upgrade, all is shown there, for E34 but fits also for E32

It depends on what the offset of the wheels are and what the hub size is.

All 5/6/7/8/Z8 BMWs have the same specs EXCEPT the e39 5 series:
    1. 5x120 wheel bolt pattern
    2. 72.56mm wheel hub (or center bore [CB]) EXCEPT the e39 5 series which has a larger 74.1mm wheel hub...hub centric rings are required to mount the e39 wheels to other 5/6/7/8/Z8 models
    3. 11mm-28mm wheel offset range (with the latest 5/6/7/ series having a few staggered wheel set-ups with REAR wheels with up to 32mm offset

To figure out what size tire you should use when PLUS SIZING...you can use any simple wheel/tire calculator that can help determine what aspect ratio you need to keep the rolling diamenter of the wheel the same as the OE wheel/tire set up. I thing 1010tire has a great calculator...just insert the original tire size in the appropriate boxes...then insert the tire size you're considering to see if it falls within the correct 3% (+/-): http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCalculator.asp

Note in the chart below that the e30 has a smaller wheel hub & the E39 5 series (including the M5) and the X3/X5 are the ODD BALL models that have a larger wheel hub. Also pay attention to the offset...in that the 3/Z3/Z4/X3/X5 have a higher wheel offset than the 5/6/7/8/Z8.

With all due respect shogun, I beg to differ if you're implying that the subject is not needed. Though the topic has been discussed extensively, people still inquire about specific combinations because there is no comprehensive listing. A matrix which covers each specific combination of wheel/tire/offset, in one place would be helpful.
