I always wondered what the difference was between the oil filters with the metal and plastic ends was. I guess the plastic is more environmental friendly :S. My 530 had the metal end filter and my 540 has the plastic. All very strange to me but whatever, the guys at BMW know what they are doing more than I do. Good PDF, good information.
