When I put a new battery in the car I picked up the radio just reads CODE. does this mean I need a code to use it and if so, where do I get it?
I've never known the car's VIN to help. You'll need to pull the radio and copy the serial number off the back. Or, sift through the glove box for the manuals and possibly the radio code card (credit-card-sized plastic card). I always wrote the radio code in the service book. It's a 5-digit code with no individual digit higher than a six. See what you can find.
BTW: This is post #3 in this thread!
