VANOS installation troubles.

I just ran into my first real problem

The assembly for VANOS that rotates on the cam sprockets does NOT rotate freely at all, Everything does rotated until the spring plate is put on the thrust washers. just loosely setting the nuts on the studs lock the whole assembly from turning in either direction.

I have heard of worn parts causing this, but what parts do I order?
I see nothing that would stop it from turning.

sounds good! but the ol 528 isn't worth it unless I do a whole rebuild + turbo or something fun

after this, im glad I have a non vanos m62!
