Fuel leak/running off right front of tank.

Fuel leak/running off right front of tank on '89 525. Pulled access panel to pump. No leak there but with ignition on, fuel is running off the front of the tank. Suspect statement true because the leak spreads out about six inches as it drops.

What is there to leak and how to access it. Bentley not very clear.

or of course the short hose between tank and filter.

Twas the long hose from fuel pump outlet to f filter. Hose had longitudinal cracks along the sharp bend before the filter. REplaced filter too. Embarassed to admit that filter probably had 130k mi.
