HK is not the best place to buy parts for cars. Low demand in this small city. I have lived there for some years. It is a paradise for shoppers for electronic equipment, cameras etc., but not for car parts.
But you must be a clever negotiator there. We had a shop where we usually went with vistors from overseas and that guy knew that we always came back if he gives us good prices without long nego.
His trick (and probably used by all clever sales men): if someone asked for a watch for example, he figured out from which country the customer is from his language or asking him. Knowing this, he immy knew what the average price is in that country for that product from the price lists he had. Then he offered him a price which was showing a nice price reduction compared to the visitors country, customer happy to get a bargain, seller happy to get a higher price than a local would ask for.
