Default Blower motor repair under $100

A lower cost alternative to the uber expensive motor and squirrel cage assembly sold by the Bavarians is to use the motor intended for a Mercedes 190E (W201). Bosch # 0 130 111 109 available @ Autohausaz for ~$90.
I tried the Fasco motor suggested in another post but was unable to get it to seat properly in the holder.
The MB spec motor is essentially identical with one exception, the "can" of the motor itself is 12mm shorter than the BM job. I cut a 1/2" strip of wood to 45mm long and 12mm wide inserted it in the holder on the side opposite the motor brushes to take up the extra space.
I took some pictures and will do my first write up for you guys.

Good news, Ross, can't wait to see the write-up and some pics, my blower motor also makes noise.
    Thanks

I lucked out and found a used one from a 535 at the pick and pull and a faint production date of "2001" from what I can tell on the orange sticker. Although I did hear a tiny tiny squeak the other day. Hopefully it was my imagination

I need to get the photos off the camera and also help in posting them from the GF who is somewhat less enthusiastic about cars than myself.
Novice Guru, the squeek could just be the cages rubbing because of imperfect alignment. There isn't a lot of clearance around them so a little off can make a difference.

see your PM message, my email address is there, just send it to me and I will post it.

Or post the write up here, and use imageshack or www.photobucket.com to download the pics from your PC to there, and then just link it. I will do the same.
    Thanks
