    Default license plate light problem

    my instrument panel reals lic plate light and i noticed one of my license plate lights is out. i replaced the bulb and it is still out. then i noticed that a peice of trim, right when i open the driver door, came off. underneith it was a bunch of wires that got lose i jsut shoved them underneith and put it back in place. were these the wires to the liense plate light. do i fix this problem

    You may find that some of the wires in the loom running into the boot (trunk!) lid have broken where they meet the hinge. All the opening and closing of the boot (trunk!!) will, over time, damage and potentially break the wires causing problems like you describe.

    Its reasonably easy to splice in new wires. I replaced all of them, 19 in total I think, to avoid future problems and create a longer more forgiving "hinge" for the loom. But you could just replace the broken wire.
