Default What I've been working on :(

This has proven to be quite involved. I can totally see why people charge what they do to make these types of manifolds. Runner #6 is being cut off tomorrow and redesigned - I want to have it tuck in closer to the flange so I can get my 4" exhaust to fit for sure.

I found DIY headers and intakes like your attempting proves too much of a bitch, although fun if not too frustrated. My BB custom headers ran me 2200.00 with ceramic coating and ex bungs, 5" collectors etc. much prettier than I could have done.

Yeah I am welding in 6 EGT ports, dual wastegates, and obviously the turbo collector. It would have been ridiculously expensive to have done.

might be able to get a deep discount by providing a working sample, all they need to do is duplicate it. I was more than impressed with the quality work done on them. Tig is fun too though lol.

Tig is an art, really. I am just starting to get the hang of it. Once I am done my car (down to about $1800 in parts and its done!) I am going to buy a synchrowave 250

quite impressive work i must say.

how do you make sure none of the excess metal goes inside the tubes? and did you calculate the length of each one to be the same?

It's TIG weld. Most of the joints are fused with no fill rod, the times I do use fill rod its under direct control and never seeps inside. Its not wire feed.

The equal length is not crucial at all on a turbo application. The only thing you gain is "maybe" more very top end power, but at the cost of hurt spool and such as your volume in the manifold will be greater.
