Default Going to 17 inch Wheels - Suspension ?

So, my old 15 inch tires are dead. The winters are on my basket weaves now. Time to consider my springtime options. I'm sick for 16 or 17 inch wheels; me haveth fever . I'd go modestly for 235/45/17, mesh or Mpars, used BBS or Beyern (not ready to buy yet), or some nice 5 spokes.

So who here went to 17 with no mods to the suspension ? That's what I would like to do. How's it ?

    Any wisdom to share ?

My E39 style 5s were a nice change and contributed graciously to handling.

Sorry, I put the Sachs kit in 1st, then added the 17" BBS Style 5's.

    +1, but E34 Style 5s.

As long as the stock suspension is in good shape, do wheels first.
