    i didn't say there was anything wrong with it, just that i am lazy and check my resistors with a meter instead of decoding the bands , hell i check them anyway to make sure they are good, the last batch of resistors i bought for my e24 cruise/fuel gauge project was a couple variety packs from radio shack and i just went through them and marked on the tape the values

    that is what I meant, you are the expert and do it every day and we (most of us) are the dummies which do it once every year, and then such thing helps,

    If you dont know the codes thats a damn good tool. Could I just point out that if you are checking resistors in a circuit, you need to have one end disconnected from the board to avoid false readings
