Default new fuel pump problem, help

finally determined it is my fuel pump that is bad. Bought a rebuilt OEM from MesaPerformance, Costa Mesa CA (great guys ). Pulled the old pump. (Easier than I thought, used nitrile glove for no gas on the arm.) Found out the inlet where the strainer fits was a different size. Turns out the pump I pulled was a Peirburg, which I was told was an aftermarket replacement. However, I have never had the fuel pump replaced. Further investigation seems toshew BMW may have used Pierburg pumps as OEM.

My problem is finding a strainer that fits the regular replacement pumps, the inlet is 1/2 inch outside diameter. Any ideas?

    thanks
    John
