    Default Window Switches

If I remember correctly, the window switches on the rear doors aren't illuminated?? in any year E34??

Also, is the one-touch feature built in the switch or in some module somewhere? is there any window switch cluster like one from a 750IL that has all four with one-touch?

    Thanks.

BTW, what does QT mean? as in a title to a thread.

The rear window switches are iluminated, but in many cases the bulb is dead. Just solder a new one in and there will be light again.
In case of the E32 there is a child lock, which you can push at the center switch block in front console, then the switches in rear are dead and the switches are also not on.
    Maybe same on E34 cars.

The one touch feature is in the GM. On the E32 it came around 09/1991 for all 4 doors one touch down, but only for driver window one touch up

copied something for you about the new GM.

This has been changed on later GM's. I have several times posted that.
    Here another one again:

-Repeat and time interlock for headwashers, time interlock 3 min.
-headlight washing pump at fifth windshield washing after time
    interlock
-intensiv washing pump operating at reduced time from 3 to 2 seconds
-minimum interval for wipers reduced to 2 from 3 seconds (programmmable)
-increased wiper contact pressure during windshield washing now also provided

-previously the GM would react opposing signals (e.g. an unlock signal while trying to lock, as with a defective microswitch) by carrying out the first command (e.g. locking, followed immediately by unlocking). Repeating the first command then results in carrying out the command, e.g. try to lock again, and locking is now carried out. This function (Asynchronious Position)is omitted in the NEW GM.
-After unlocking is performed due to crash sensor activiation, the locking command is now reactivated by double-locking with the key from either side (driver or passenger door).
-The one-touch operation of windows has been expanded to all 4 windows in OPENING direction. Drivers side has one touch in both directions
Sunroof is not already in the tilt position.
-switch off delay of the interior lights after entering the vehicle and closing the driver's door reduced from 20 to 15 seconds.

also, does this affect the key lock/ window roll up by any chance? or adds a key unlock/ window roll down feature?

Some people have bought the globes from modeller's shops as the individual globes are not available from BMW and you will need to buy the whole switch. I changed mine with clear globes but one has blown again. I found that I had to remove the door panel so buy some extra door attachment 'lugs' (always good to have some around) as some will inevitably break when you remove the door skin. If you are changing the globes you should also clean the terminals.
