Honestly if I had one I probably would

I have helped with two timing belts and a turbo replacement (k03 turbo craps out ALWAYS) and I never, ever, ever want to see one of those again.

Dead right about the view under the hood, bloody nightmare, what about finding an RS2 avant, decent engine, room for rug-rats, goes like ......... and no depreciation.Big Volvo`s have mainenance problems in later life, hence dealers value.PLEASE do not buy a TT, unless you are really a hairdresser?

We don't have anything under the A3, and that was new in '05 here.

I thought about doing the ALMS TT but meh, don't like it. My current plan is to save up for a MKV or 2010 MKVI GTI. I miss my old one.

If you do S60/V70 R beware that 2004 was plagued with 4C suspension probs.

if you havent test driven the new TT 3.2 quattro, you have to try it. understandably, they are built to be admired, driven but not serviced. An e34 is a MILF (excuse me), the new TT is a hot wife that will leave you on lease end... Not meant to be maintained heh.

The 1.8T has very good power and torque curve. Like the SAAB 9000, the torque peaks at 1800 rpm or so and stay flat from there on. The problem is VW put the timing belt on the engine instead of a chain. That is not so bad if it did not stuff the turbo between the engine and the firewall. Worst of all VW had the drive train in an engine compartment so tight it is a nightmare to try to replace anything. I am with Jon on this one. I would not want it if you give one to me.
