    Default 525i Touring Mileage

I'm considering picking up a '92 525i touring for my wife. What kind of mileage could I expect around town?

I'd say thats about right. Only I'm talking UK gallons which are about 20% more than US gallons in volume, let alone price

21.4 Usually goes down a little in winter because they add more corn juice. That's burning premium with a EAT chip installed.

of 3500 lbs., or more, but as far as great handling, brakes, and safety, it's got the Jeep beat by a mile. Where it really stands out is when you get up to 75mph or higher on the highway. They do build them for German road touring so they really shine on long, sustained trips.

I put at least 70 miles on mine each day. I expect to hit 200,000 miles by year's end, but she's still going strong.......and, ahem, it's paid for.

It's definitely one of the better $3k cars I've heard of.

It's city driving, go hybrid or diesel if you want better city mileage. EAT chip in a 525 will actually help a smidge.

    I had a Pathfinder before and it's a world's difference.

    3k? for a touring?
Tourings typically cost more for the same condition becasue of rarity and desirability...

mine is possibly low because I stillneed to swap fuel filters, and also because my city driving consists of repeated 0-50 0-60 acceleration and decel.

on the freeway on a long trip I average about 24mpg at 75-80.
