    Default BMW BBS Style 5's

I am currently getting a set of 17" BMW BBS (RC 090) Style 5 wheels which I hear came originally on the E39. (I bought 1 in really good shape for $150) I understand the offset on these are is IS 20 mm The offset on my 15" Bottle caps is ET 20 mm. I know the hub diameter on the 17" wheels is 74.1 mm and the hub diameter of my 1989 E34 525i (M20) is 72.56.

My question is: Is there anyone else out there that is running these rims with the same build car as mine. I know that hub centric rings are going to be required. Is Metal or Plastic better? I understand I should be using 235-45/17 tires, right? What problems or issues have you experienced

    You've got it nailed.

I'd do the hubcentric rings from TireRack.

Ditto... while you're at it by an extra set for safety in case something happens to one of them if you decide to fix your brakes, shocks, etc... They cost about $4 a piece plus shipping.

I had them on mine, with the rings there were no problems at all.

No offense to that seller, but if your wheels have "rattle problems", I'd worry about the wheel bolts before suspecting the hubcentric rings!

That is of no help at all.

    eh?

You've had three helpful posts already, 75% is pretty good for an internet forum.

Here's some helpfulness: carbon at least won't suffer from galvanic corrosion like AL ones do.

Tire Rack...call, speak to a customer rep and ask for #A670. (won't find it on the web site...must call and talk to a rep)

Aluminum hub centric rings: handle with care
    72.6 (72.56) inner and 74.1 outer
    for a 7 series E32 and E34 5 series
