    Default Is it my Differential?

If i think i am feeling a very slight amount of slack for want of a more accurate term, when starting from a dead stop (with a little umph) in the right rear wheel am i feeling the beginnings of the failure of the differential or is it an axle or maybe just the tire is spinning a tad.. just started noticing it recently and would like to know if this is a recognized symptom of impending failure somewhere.

Unless the 540 is very different you dont have an axle as such-the diff sits in the middle and has drive shafts running out to the wheels. You could have some play in the shaft universal joints, the diff itself or the diff or subframe mounts. Interested to hear how you know its the right rear - doesnt it leave as much rubber on the road?

It just feels like the right rear side has a little give when i accelerate off the line like something in the driveline begins spinning before the wheel does but just a very slight bit. I understood the car doesn't have an axle all the way thru i thought they used that term for what you named wheel driveshafts but anyway I was p$$ed off at something the other day and lit the tires up in reverse and wonder if i did something more than leave some rubber. I'll update as warranted.

    Check your dogbones/pitman arms?

My back left one is totally shot and causes the wheel to move around with a clunk - also causes it to prone to wheelspinning on that wheel...

Check the tire wear and see how uniform it is as well.
