Default OT: looked at an E36 M3 tonight

just for shits and giggles. I have seen this really sharp black E36 M3 on this "preowned" lot. So I figured why the hell not take a look. Afterall I am looking to get another one.

So I got the details. Its a 1999 M3, Cosmos black with a black interior. 76k. Completely stock except the kenwood head unit. HK stereo, heated seats, etc.. Well I didnt get a chance to drive it since another car was blocking it in but I will be back tommorow. Anyway everything works in it. Including the headlight switch that never illuminates. M3 floor mats and trunk mat and even comes with origina stereo. They are asking $15,575 for it. Is this a good deal?

Drive it, then you tell us.

Hope it's a stick, I've never had fun in an auto m3. It's one thing to drive an auto 540, but for it to be an M and still not have the mantranny, it would be torture.

Its a good price for a mint one, but if it needs maintenance, it might not be so great.

Maintenance items arent too different from the E34 around the same mileage, FWIW.

    15k for a 99 with only 76k miles is a hell of a deal.

    Sounds pretty good.

A friend of mine was looking at a white one with grey interior up here in Michigan. The car was in great shape, I think 1995, had 170k miles. Brakes may have need a little work and it needed an a/c switch. The guy wanted $6,900. We drove it...ran and rode nice. I was amazed at how fast she was.

Funny thing...it was so low to the ground that there was an aluminum Pepsi can lying on it's side in the middle of the road...we drove over it, caught it under the car and dragged it for a bit.
