    Default Insurance renewal... good god!

Got the insurance renewal through, the quote wasn't what i'd hoped for to say the least!

Firstly I know, 23 yrs young + 3.5L = £££££. However i'm wondering if any of you out there are in a similar situation and/or can point me in the direction of a good company to try??! I've tried lots and lots of different ones on the internet but i'm getting a bunch of ridiculous (£2000+) quotes... But i know there's bound to be some out there specialising in our types of cars.

Changing the car is out of the question of course, I love it too much!

Oh and does anyone know what the alarm/immobiliser system in my car is called (i.e is it CAT1 etc?) - its the full closure alarm + immobiliser with OBC code.

    Any suggestions GREATLY appreciated!

What... It's not broken??? I can still fix it

    What?

How many years noclaims you got? Any claims against you?

I found that churchill gave me one of the best deals, if you quote up online you get 10% discount online.

With 3 years noclaims / age 23 I'm getting a quote of about £750 on a 540i from them, which seems steep, but then you consider it's a 4.0 v8 that's not really bad!

I quoted the 525TDs up for next year - at 4 years noclaims it'll clock in at £450 fully comp.

2 years NCD... but 3 points also on my license unfortunately. Got caught by the stealth tax... that doesn't help.

£750 on a 540i is good in my experience, my lowest is £1300 Fully comp on mine.

    I've actually just requoted it:

    Fully Comp: £665
    3rd party: £765 (WTF!? lol)

Anyone backed by RBS - churchill/direct line/tesco class the E34 as an old mans car and make it quite cheap to insure!

3 points, was it in a 30 limit?

I've got an old SP50 - motorway speeding offence - on my license and it only made £40 a year difference to my policy!

Try a classic company like Footman James, at 17 yrs old it should qualify, mileage limit but its worth it. Even at double your age I still have problems, not that it makes you feel better(!),hence sale of 951 and 911,as for M5`s,own a garage!

Haha, due to work commitments etc, we agreed that we'd wait till the end of the month to do business - which reminds me I need to give him a shout again!

Haha you done your gorilla act with the 535i yet and pitched it in that skip?

Sp30 - exceeding speed limit on a 30mph road. Don't get me started on speeding fines, everywhere you turn these days its a fine... Don't return your tax refund on time its a fine, drive a few mph over the limit its a fine, don't pick your dog **** up its a fine, ride your bike on the pavement its a fine, don't have your seatbelt on its a fine... This place is getting ridiculous. Its not that i disagree with these things because i don't, i just hate the way they try to justify these fines in the interest of "safety" when all they are really doing is throwing another tax on the unsuspecting public.
