    Default E32 1988 Remove/Replace Ignition Switch

My ignition switch turns just far enough to release the steering lock, which is not far enough to remove the lock cylinder by this method.

I might need to replace the entire cylinder/switch/assembly.

BMW quotes this as three parts.

I removed the lower clamshell beneath the steering wheel.

How do I remove the upper clamshell and the steering lock assembly (which has the key cylinder on the right side and the switch with wires on the left side)?

    Thanks,
