Default Do you really need to replace the flywheel/pressure plate bolts?

The bolts are in great shape and I don't see any reason to have to replace them. Would a bit of lock tite on the threads make up for re-using the same bolts?

No. I never do. But loctite is required or oil will leak out of the engine, making the new rear main seal you installed useless. It is more for sealing the threads than locking. Unless you have the M60 the holes on the rear flange are not through holes so no oil can come out. BMW calls for oiling the flywheel bolts on the M60 rather than loctiting them.

Sorry. I am still asleep talking about the wrong bolts. But my answer is still no.
