    Default Bad rear axle bearing.

Our e34 has a bad drivers side rear axle bearing. I recently replaced it but must have ruined it during install. I am considiring a salvage trailing arm as an alternative. Is the trailing arm a bit easier of a fix not requiring specialty tools?

Try again with a new bearing, ought to easier this time.
With cars our age more often being salvaged because of being worn out rather than an otherwise good car being wrecked the parts from them are especially iffy.
If you didn't like changing a bearing you won't like the trailing arm.

Default If you're going to go

thorugh all the trouble of removing the arm, might as well take it to a machine shop and get a new bearing installed.
