Default "krrriinggg" sound after crankup starter motor...

    Hi,

After turn the ignition key and crank the engine with starter motor, then i hear "krrrriiinngggg" sound somehow subsides after a while.. it's sound like the flywheel is hitting something..

Need some advise what i should do? e.g. take out the starter and check if something wrong with starter etc?

thanks for any tips, in advance,

mine does the same thing, but only once in a blue moon. i figure it's just the starter bendex disengaging from the flywheel

just so you know what a bendix is i attached this link.i know it's not the some problem that you are having but some good info. Most all starters are built in a similar fashon, just some springs and electro magnets.

the only way to know for shure is to pull it out and make shure all the teeth are still on the bendix and the flywheel.
.EDIT. If some of the teeth are missing on the bendix, it can cause damage to the flywheel. it depends on if thier is any damage and if so how much.
