Default Problem fitting CD43 into dashboard

You will have to excuse me because I posted this question in the CD43 Group Buy thread but I figure (I hope) I will get more views and a better response in a new thread.

This is being installed in my 1989 535i automatic.

I installed the unit but have one problem. I cannot get the unit totally flush into the dash. Bottom edge is fine but top edge sticks out 1/8 or maybe 1/4 inch out. I've tried shifting the wires in the back about to see if they are blocking in some way. Have not ruled that out.
Has anyone had the problem or have a suggestion?

    Thanks

    Jim

the problem seems to be that it is hitting something in the back and not going in all the way.i've done many custom installs best suggestion i could give you is to move some wires around and make some room. wish i could help more but just try try and try again

Agreed. Every time I take one out it's a little struggle to get everything back where it goes, the same radio doesn't want to go back in if you've moved the wires at all.
