    Default instrument cluster

    Hey guys, got a 1989 520i and the rev counter and speedometre ain't moving at all even when the car is moving also the red light on the fuel guage ain't coming on either to let me know that im running out of gas also noticed when i put key into ignition and start the engine the temp guage needle moves slightly then goes back to the blue position any idea's what's wrong and how to fix this problem?

    If I were you I'd try and get hold of a spare cluster - the type your car has is becoming increasingly scarce (here in the UK anyway).

    The early ones are all riddled with this drama. I'll get mine fixed one day...

    Not sure where you are but if its UK then get here and pick up `90 cluster free, going in bin soon.
