Default did valve cover gasket now car is smoking?

this cant be goood. i did the valve cover gasket and spark plugs on the passenger side of my 540i. i must say this has been one big pain in the balls. it took me 4 hours just to do one side. so i quit when i just got done and will save the other side for another day. im pretty shocked at how much better the car runs now just from one side. but now i have smoke billoing out oif my exhaust. im guessing this is the oil that got down into the combustion chambers when i was putting plugs in. any other ideas or is my engine on its way out?

mine did that too, went away after a few minutes. Ain't them gaskets a bitch??? I'm selling my car before I do them again. It's real easy for the gaskets to slip out of track too, caught the rear on mine just before snugging the bolts back in. That would have really sucked.

OH GOD the easiest part of the job was disconnection those little clips on the injectors. the drivers side looks like no picnic either but it has to be done *sigh* on a lighter note i made up some new curse words. even though my neighbors were ouside having a bbq im sure they heard me, i felt no shame. thank god for permatex, otherwise id still be farting around with those gaskets.

?? Valve covers were pretty simple. Took me less than an hour to get both off, sealing the gaskets was the only PITA, had mine sanded, primered and painted with engine paint, sadly the paint is chipping now...

Powdercoating seems like the only way with these things.
