Default How To Clear " CODE miles/km " From Display

I had to jump start my E34 last week because I left the CD player playing too long while I fishing. My dashboard graphic display now reads " CODE miles/km " and I can not clear it. I have reviewed the Owner's Manual but find no solution there. Can any one out there advise me how to clear the graphic display of " Code miles/km "? Thanx in advance. My e-mail is nachtwey@aol.com if you wish to contact me. Again, thanx in advance.

coding plug is corrupted, you need a new coding plug.
Try one time to disconnect the battery and then connect again, if it fails, you need a new coding plug.
