    Default Sunroof Problem

sunroof had a mind of its own the other day. pushed the tilt up button and it contiued to power the motor even when it was fully tilted. I did not realize this until I removed the panel and lowered it manually with an allen key before turning the ignition off, DOH!! Motor still running even after switch was unplugged. Motor would run from the point at which I manually passed closed and proceeded into tilt territory.

At this point I had stripped the nylon bushing in the motor.
Normal operation has been restored, I intend to clean the switch contacts and relays so this doesn't happen again but is it possible to replace the nylon bushing or do I need a replacement motor?

I read some posts about resetting the module by holding the tilt button for 20-40sec. but how is this done properly?

ok, going to smush some JB Weld in the bushing and see how it works, if not, I'll just replace the motor as they are inexpensive pieces.

    resync:
    1. manually close the sunroof.(tool is in toolbox in trunk)
    2. remove the sunroof motor
    3. use the hex tool to align the center of the blue gear with the dot on that same gear with the smaller grey gear drive.

    hope this helps a little.
