Brake Expansion Tank (fluid resviour) leaking

The rear plug is all wet with fluid, and it's dripping down onto the brake booster. The front one seems better.

Anyone done this before and is there anything I should take note of when removing and installing it again?

Any more advice on changing the plugs?

pull the tank off pop the #2s out and pop in the new ones, smear a little fluid on them before pushing the tank back in, use the bmw spec fluid, not sure if you have the same standards down there, dot 4 is the recomended fluid here, dot 3 is the most common avalable and it usually eats those grommits, i am figuring it's the alcohol that does it. they generally don't need bleeding

You need Super Dot 4 spec fluid, Kris... Castrol do it. There's aguy that sells it cheap in bulk on ebay.com.au

LUCAS brake fluid? Ha, ha ha As in the inventor of intermittant wipers? lights etc.

I think I used that last time, but the lucas stuff has slightly higher boiling points. The Castrol stuff is a lot cheaper though.

castroil gt-lma is dot 4 and good stuff, pretty much if it's good for a old british car it should be ok from a eating the rubber stand point, the natural rubber gets turned to jello by the crap dot 3 fluid
