Vogtlands are real low off the boat, if you dont have a V8 you can go either H&R or Eibach. Trust me you dont want to go with the Belsteins.
Schatze needs some help. I took her to an indy mechanic earlier this week for a quote on a replacing my control and thrust arms and got back a quote for $2100 for that work plus some shocks, struts, engine mounts, transmounts and some other stuff.
Needless to say, that was a heck of a lot more than I anticipated going in. So it looks like a day or two off from work and some wrenching.
I'm going to change out my control arms, thrust arms, idler arms, stabilizer links and tie rods. While I'm at it, I figured I go with new springs, struts and shocks.
For the springs I'm looking at Eibach or Vogtlands. Schatze is mostly a DD, so I think H&Rs are out. I'd like to go with an eBay Vogtland/KYB kit, but I can't find the 530 listed as an application. I called Vogtland this morning, but their tech was out and they're closed tommorrow. Alternatively, I can go with an Eibach/KYB set-up for about $20 - $40 more.
The parts line-up so far is as follows:
Autohausaz.com
$87.04 Corteco Engine Mounts (Left and Right)
$42.70 Sachs-Boge Rear Shock Mounts (Left and Right)
$16.44 Febi-Bilstein/BMW (OE) Strut Bumpers (Left and Right)
$2.79 Meyle/Ruville Strut/Shock Dust Boot (Qty 2)
$16.72 Metzeler/CRP-Continental Transmission Mount (Qty 2)
$359 + $60 Shipping Vogtland Kit
Or Eibach 2013.140 $247 plus KYB kit $181 + $30 shipping.
The KYB choice is due to budget, so I'll live with the consequences. But I could use some help with the spring choice and with the review of the parts to see if I've left anything out. Thanks!

eibach makes 2 sets for the e34
one for 525
another for 535,530,540 that doesn't lower the front as much

they are VERY harsh riding, however they allow rediculous levels of handling.

Koni's would be much better than bilsteins. They are adjustable and have enough damping for a stiff spring. Bilstein sports are a much less aggressive shock than Koni's
