Default What is this under the accelerator?

It looks like this is supposed to plug in... what is this and should I plug it in? And is it just supposed to push on, or do I twist it on? Thanks

That switch shifts your transmission down another gear when you're really flooring the car, it wasn't in place?!

Yes, it's the kickdown switch. You'll enjoy the feeling of acceleration when you get that connected again.

Okay, thanks for identifying it, now how is it supposed to connect? Does it just push on and stop at the hexagonal-shaped part of the gold base?

It's the hyperdrive switch, you will see stars in your windscreen start to look like lines radiating out of a central point when that gets activated

Sorry, don't know how to plug it in, and funnily enough the "hyperdrive" switch in my E34 has some rubbery cover on it?

this is the hyperswitch, very interesting too. Mine looks like that but with the black part facing the bolt thingy. Whats the face of the black part look like? Mine seems to be stuck or glued to the bolt or something but Im not going to pull it out incase it ends up doing what yours is doing

haha, nice... okay, I think I just pushed it on and it staying. I finally understand how it works now... it really is like a button that pushes in when the accelerator is pushed to the floor! weee!!!! To be honest, I actually think I had this plugged in before, and I'm kind of thinking it was unplugged that one night when my throttle cable stuck wide open on the highway and I was frantically pulling on stuff down by the accelerator thinking that was the problem. Thanks guys
