    Default Rear E31 shocks

I noticed some instability when I drive my car in the past 2 weeks, so I tried to press the car down from the tail and the right side bounces and feel softer, so that calls for new shocks !!

the question is, what should I get? are they the same as the 750? or is it the coil that makes the difference?

I think I need a serious rear repair, there was some strange sounds before and now I feel the difference on humps as it sinks more from the right than the left. I hope I can get new shock or I have to buy second hand and God knows how long will it last.

yours has EDC right? Do you also have the system that pumps hydraulic fluid, heard those are real expensive.

Do check the shocks and shock mounts. Are there any noises? Just like the e34 these can go bad. Nothing special or unique about it. How many miles on the suspension? Have you hit any potholes or run over any speedbumps? Lastly, check underneath if you see any oil coming from the shock.

    Good luck with the work.

the way the car swings when it bounces is for sure from the shocks, I'm not interested in buying used parts for it. as I mentioned above .. the system is conventional and not EDC. so now I need to buy new shocks I just need some recommendations (brands) and if they are the same as the E32 750 or not.

buy the way I guess they got destroyed by rain floods as for 2 weeks I had to drive in places where water floods reached just below my side windows.

I like the boge/sachs touring shocks on the E34, not sure if they would be a great on the 31. I definetly do not like Bilstein anything.

u can call them that dude, but rivers are filled with pure water .. not salty sandy water full of **** too from drainage sewage water :P

yeah I remember your experience with Bilstein, I guess Sachs will be good. or I will look for gas filled shocks (second hand) complete with the coil and rubber supports.
    lets see next week ...
