Exact same problem in the 535 I'm looking at... supposedly started just recently. Also fan control switch is bad.Originally Posted by fsteyer
Hi ... my blower fan started to sound as if it is scraping. Whats the likely cause and how can I fix it?

You probably thought of this, but just in case you didn't... Could be a leaf or pine needle or something made it in that far. Try running the blower full blast to blow it out or chew it up. (frequently have to do this in my old truck)

Could be leaves as mentioned. Also, the bearings could be dry and there's really no good way to get lube into them other than penetrating oil. Here's a link for accessing/swapping the blower motor:

thanks ... but it doesn't sound like bad bearing noise. This sounds as if the fan blades are rubbing against something. So maybe its just debris and it will go away.
