Default Most overtyred 525i in the history of the e34

End of this week i'll be getting 235R17/45 on my front and 255R17/40s on the rear. This to my knowledge is what T-stars take, some freaking moron put some shitbox chinese death tyres that were 235s on the rear. so i am retifying that problem.
I am getting Maxxis MAV-1's I can't believe that a set of 4 V-rated tyres in these sizes will only set me back $700 Australian including fitting and balancing. I am not really expecting heaps from these tyres except to be a good solid touring tyre. they certainly can't be any worse than the firestones i had on the front and WanLi (aka chinese death tyres)that caused the back to say hello in the wet that were on the rear.
I have heard very good things about Maxxis MAZ-1 (they won wheels tyre comparison a few years ago) but i didn't want a very soft tyre so i went with the MAV-1, so I'll let you know how they go.

The next cheapest decent tyres were hankooks and they were still about $300 more all up.

i wouldn't give $300 for a set of hankooks let alone $300 more then something else, around here they are cheep **** only eclipsed in general shittyness by the house brand parts store cheepos like (insert your favorite cheep grease ball tire name here)

yeah. don't ever come to australia i think you would have to walk everywhere. imagine every part you've ever bought then quadruple the price. and no thats got nothing to do with the exchange rate.

I'm about to have the same size put on my staggered Style 5s.

You are lucky. I was quoted $149 (each) for Ecsta SPTs, 225/55/16.
Where can I get such low prices online?
Tried the tirerack but they won't ship to my address.

Sounds like a business opportunities to me... Ya know... smuggled auto parts and selling it at 3 times the normal price instead of 4... aw heck... 2 times instead so I don't have to stick along there long...

Maybe I'll import them as toys...
