    Default Crank Position Sensor 473??

Im getting a reading of 473. The car (95 540) wont start. The fuel and DME relays are buried under a bunch of wires...I checked the White relay (has the heavy guage red wire going into it) it is clicking when the key is turned. Im assuming its working since its clicking. Have not checked for spark yet. The Car is turning over but not firing AT ALL! Im in the process of buying the car. I'm about ready to turn it down. What can I do to rule out DME failure? Im only paying 1000 for it.

I have great access to everything BMW.

I've owned an E30 E36 E46 E38. I currently own the E46. I Really want to add this E34 to the stable. TIA guys!!!!

Default yes but is 473 outside of tolerence?

is a reading of 473 outside of acceptable range? Many conflicting views on this reading. Bentley says something like 1200. Most everyone is saying a number around 500, however, WHAT is the correct number to see when your reading resistance??
