Hey guys
again, sigh, i have another problem
after fixing my trunk today (woot!) i felt really great...but then the realization slapped me in the face. I had another problem
I've had this problem for a while, but since you guys helped me with the trunk switch problem, ill ask you guys about this too...
Ok so, I have an 1995 525i and I love it to death
But around a year ago the alarm beeper stoped working
I can press the buttons on the fob and hear the alarm lock and arm, but the horn wont sound. and furthermore, when i set off the alarm, all the car does is flash the lights, but doesnt sound the horn anymore.
Why??
but more importantly
cani fix it??
Thanks in advance.....

oh and one more question, does the alarm have its own horn, or does it use the same horn as the steering wheel??

The alarm usually has it's own horn, typically mounted under the hood/bonnet somewhere, often on the inner fender. Some have a keyhole on the horn unit to turn the alarm on or off.

The alpine box has a DIP switch that allows it to use either the car's highway horn or a dedicated horn.
A lot of cars have the dedicated horn because the dealer techs got a few more FRUs to install it and it wasn't much work.

The horn can be mounted on either side, and could look something like this:

In that case, the alarm might be run through the steering wheel horn, or it might be well hidden. I've seen one that was mounted below the ventilation openings beneath the windshield amidst wiper linkage. Look for a horn-like thing.
