Default OT What is fun to do in Vegas?

Guys--I need ideas. What have you done there that is fun?

I think I remember someone posting about a race track off the strip. I also seem to remember one of my friends telling me about some deal where you can squirt unsuspecting people with water while they are on a ride at the MGM. Just can't remember the details or even who told me about it.

I know--what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas...blah, blah, blah. But come on. Fork over your good stories for a fellow bimmer driver in need of inspiration.

I go to Vegas for the shows....since generally places don't let me gamble and drink (im underage for 6 more months!). I havent most of the new ones...but I did see KA by Cirque Du Soleil about 3 months ago... I didnt like it for the $150 entrance fee. Look for venders that sell tickets just before a show, they are dirt cheap...but slim pickings.

The girls are always fun down there.

Uhh. If you were there this weekend, I'd go see the All Star Game, if you can even get tickets. The shooting ranges are fun, because NV gets full auto vs. Cali and its semi-auto law.

Car wise, I have no clue. They have a small exhibition of exotic cars inside ceasars palace(inside one of the stores).

When are you going anyways? I'll be there the week after bimmerfest! Gonna be watching a Celine Dion concert of all things. haha. This is her last year on contract, and the mom's really wants to see her.

The lunchtime smorg at Bally's used to be some of the best eats in town -- maybe it still is, if it hasn't changed in the fifteen years or so since I was last there. Most of the other casino brunch buffets and the like were nigh unto toxic, 'specially the really cheap ones.

Wynn hotel has a Ferrari exhibition. $15 per person. I didn't go. "O" and Blue man shows are really good. Buffets are getting more expensive. They were around $15 a few years ago. Now they are averaging $25.

Avoid Alladin. Their service and dealers sxxk.

Haven't tried the hookers yet. Some feedbacks will be nice.

    Gayle,

If you're in to hiking, see if you can find your way to the natural hot springs, south of Boulder City, a couple of miles before the dam. It's about a 90 minute hike through the canyons, ending at a dammed up pool. At least it was there 20+ years ago when I lived there. Another hour past that and you end up at the Colorado River. It is quite a site. There may be organized hikes down there now, but back in the day, you just drove your car down a hill, parked, and started walking. Someone was kind enough to spray paint directions on the rocks and tie ropes up so you could get down or up the path.

Perhaps check out "Love", the Beatles tribute by Cirque de Soleil. If it is half as good as the soundtrack CD, it will be fantastic, but difficult to get in.

There used to be an antique car museum at the Imperial Palace. There is a car rental outfit on the strip where you can rent exotics. Drive out to Red Rock Canyon for some nice twisties, if it's not too overbuilt now.

Since I am a chick, I don't think I will be trying them either....Last time I was there for a meeting, I notice a new thing. Guys on the sidewalk handing out cards about like baseball cards that are advertising for the hookers. What will they think of next?

But just because I am a chick, don't start telling me stuff like get your nails done at x spa. I am seeking input about what is fun from the male perspective so the hookers are noted.

The Imperial Palace has an incredible car collection. http://www.imperialpalace.com/autos.php The collection is located on the fifth level of the self-parking facility. Open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.

I've rented an s2000 honda & gone out to the Hoover Dam. Not so fun on the highway; great fun on the backroads.
