I got a few of those when I had my 635 and lived in Mpls and parked on the street downtown. I just went to the courthouse and told them it had recently fallen off and they let it go.

So the wife was asleep in the house and the officer had the balls to wake her up in the middle of the night and hand her a ticket? I would call the officer's supervisor and explain the misuse of authority. Also explain that your wife was petrified that a loved one had died and that the officer was going to break the news. Make the ****er realize that there is a right way to do things, and a wrong way.

A warning placed under the wiper wouldve done just as well.
