Default Front end suspension noise finally diagnoised and fixed!

Apparently my front left rotor protection plate #34111162105 was cracked and a piece broke off and caught between the rotor and protection plate.

The mechanic who fixed it thinks my car probably hit a gutter some stage prior to me owning the vehicle and pushed the front left wheel in fairly bad, cos apparently all my left hand side suspension, arms, linkages and even bearings are brand new. Whoever fixed it probably reused the old protection plate even though it was probably already damaged.

them plates get real messed up just from changing the strut if your not real careful. Once they are bent it takes a while to bend them back so they dont vibrate and make noise. A small rock flipped up there once and sounded like the end of the world was upon the car.

They can also get pretty banged up using various tools to try to replace said control arm.

As far as hitting the curb, if anyone ever buys my Volvo 240, they'll find the same thing. Botched that side up pretty good.

Ain't it great when it turns out to be simple and cheap! Your allotment of said cures is now used.
