Default Need Help replacing Fuel Filter

Where is it? Under the back seat? In the trunk? I've checked the trunk over pretty good, and all I see is the cover to the fuel tank (I believe) is it in the tank?

I've never been able to figure out the back seat, so I can't check there. It doesn't seem to come forward or out in anyway I can figure out. Please help!

Or is it under the car?

Please help, the E34 website has got instructions, but as to where the location of the filter is, all it says is "lift the back of the car". Which is a little ambiguous.

Under the car near the differential on the right hand side. "Lift the back of the car", meaning jack the back (rear) of the car off the ground.

THanks. DO I have to pull the rear right wheel off? Or simply slide my ass under the car?

    I've done it both ways.
Leave the right rear wheel on if you have a lift and want one less thing to mess with. Even with the rear on a jackstand and lying on my back under the car I can reach the filter OK that way.
But the last time I took the wheel off so I could reach the filter from sitting in the wheel well. That works well also.

Jack up the car at the differential. No need to take the wheel off.
