Default New MAF a good idea?

is this a good idea? I assume mine is original with almost 158,000 miles on it. If i can win this at a substantial savings from new is it worth the effort?

    Got a MAF question myself.

Read about bad MAF's so I unplugged mine and ran her around the block. It initially stumbled a bit upon throttle and the CEL came on, but ran about as strong as it did before I disconnected it. Seeing as there was no real improvement in power does that mean it needs replacement?

How about just clean your MAF with MAF sensor cleaner ($6)?

Can we clean the MAF in m60 engines? I thought that film was a "do not touch" material.

    Jehu,

Still alot of time left in the auction. If you can get it for substantial savings, why not? Worst case you turn it around and either make a profit or your money back.

With a MAF you're not supposed to touch the wire/film. But with maf cleaning spray, you don't touch the film/wire
