Default Should I replace Oxygen sensor @50K?

Refers to 1990 325is. Check Engine light came on while driving on freeway. Then it went off.

Bentley says replace Oxy sensor at 50K (It also says replace it at 60K, whatever.)

It's probably been 50K, at least, since it's been changed. Should I do this?
