needs some bigger wheels to fill out those front fenders, but it looks really sick
My buddy just picked it up - it's a 1969 VW Squareback. Its a bit of a rat rod and we think he should keep it that way. Its got some rust on the bodywork, but the structure is great. He's not looking to restore it, just make it that much cooler.
Its SLAMMED on torsion bar suspension. Has 911 bucket seats. It's a charmer!
It gets so much attention from people to! "What kind of car is that!"

Thought it was an old Volvo at first
1500 cc air cooled engine I believe.
Can use a lot of parts from the old Porsche 4-cyinder engines.
One of my first cars was the old VW beetle with 1200 cc and 34 HP.
That were nice times to repair, got the engine out in less than 20 minutes

when i was in college in late 60s-early 70s if you had $500 to spend the vw squareback was THE dependable ride. bulletproof, inexpensive to fix (except heater boxes).
Thats bad ass!
