    Default Airbag Sensor Light

    Airbag Sensor Light

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Does anyone know the key on flash sequence to determine air bag sensor light faults?

For example Fords have a key on sequence (Example: air bag light flashes 3 times signifys passenger sensor failure).

I've been searching on this for the past month on every BMW forum I can think of basically here's the summary of my searching.

There is no way to flash a code out via the SRS light. Since you have a 98 - You should be able to use the Peake tool to reset the light. Peake Reset Tool

    Your best bet:
With the battery disconnected clean all the SRS connectors - these are the orange connectors on top of the wheel well under the hood.
    Reset the light
If the light returns - check the connections on the drivers side steering wheel - several people have posted the connection or clock spring under the bag becomes dirty and triggers the SRS light.
    Reset the light.
If your still getting an SRS error its off to the dealer.

The Peake tool for airbag reset does not work on older BMW such as the E34 and E32. Clearly mentioned.

That is why I import from Germany this airbag reset, oil and inspection tool
and it sells good in Japan on the auction house. Mostly indy repair shops buy them.

No thanks, I am happy with these products from Germany and they are known now.
I also have a Peake fault tool and a airbag reset tool but I found out too late that the Peake homepage says:

    R5/SRS Features:

Models available for most BMWs built between 1994 and 2003

    And Peake is more expensive.

Or do you mean you want to buy some of these?I have paid for the import duty and freight to Japan.
But you can buy it directly from Germany from this point
    http://www.zymexx.de/english/frames.html

The smaller one is on the German page only, that one is enough for E32/34
    Service Rücksteller BMW SIR3 digital
Rücksteller der Service-Intervallanzeige, Löschfunktion der Airbagkontrolleuchte, Rückstellung des Serviceintervalls der Airbagkontrolle und Bremsflüssigkeitsanzeige, Modelle 1987 bis 2003 ...
    ausführliche Beschreibung
Preis inkl. MwSt. 49,00 Euro bestellen

That means 49 EURO for this

and the one with 2 connectors costs:

    Boa digital
Reset Tool for BMW cars 1987 - 2003
Combination for round original BMW and OBD2 socket
Resets service, inspection and Airbag light.
    detailed description
    Price incl. VAT 129,00 Euro

    Plus shipping.
When you order, pls mention my name 'shogun', and you will get a discount most probably, as I buy a lot from that company.

Just imported close to 20 sets to Japan and almost all are sold within 10 days.

Well I appreciate your calling my attention to the tool - I have a 92 so this is exactly what I need. Unfortunately my Japanese is a bit rusty / nonexistent . Do you know of an English or European sources for the tool?

Send an email to there, see my link, mention the name 'shogun" and see if you can get it cheaper than list price.
I know the owner Mr. Ernst J. Zymelka and will inform him today that some from this board will order.
But I think shipping to USA will be about 35 EURO = approx. 40 US $.
    He accepts paypal.
