    Default Suspension Fix

I know there is no silver bullet for correcting the shimmy I get at 70Km/H, but I also cannot afford to get all new suspension at one time.

I did find this on e-bay though, it appears to be a kit of some sort with most of the parts to overhaul most of the front suspension.

Can you tell me what you all think of it? Is this any good or is it crap?

It says it comes wtih 4 Control Arms, 2 Tie Rods, 2 Sway Bar Links, 1 Idler arm, Upper and Lower Thrust Arm control with Ball joint and Bushing, and more. Price is at $230 with a low shipping costs.

I dont think its worth it because chances are they have got some cheap bushins in them. You really should get 750i bushings preferably Lemforder. From experience, all that need to be changed is control arm thrust arm and maybe steering tie rod ends. All you need is some HD ball joint separators, and access to a press with a selection of adapters. If you cant separate the stud from the steering knuckle, take the whole assy out ie CA, TA,with steering knuckle. Good luck!

I fixed my shake with 750i thrust arm bushings and new struts.

102 bucks for the pair of bushings, and 50 dollars for the strut cartriges. No more shake

If it looks too good to be true, it probably is. Do a search and you'll see many tales of woe by our fellow bimmerheads who went cheap on front suspension parts. They don't last. Go with Lemforders with 750 bushings and you'll be a happy camper. You probably can get by with control arms and thrust arms.

    Thanks for the helpful hints.

What I gathered is that quality is key, and that I'm better off buying the good stuff as I'll otherwise be paying for it in a year or so.

I'll do it in the next month and let you know how it goes.

    Thanks for the help.
