    Default Expanding Rivet

Do these rivets-#16 require any special tool or technique to install or remove?
    Also are they reusable?
There is a lot of crap (read: dead leaves) that have found their way underneath the trim pieces that I'd like to clean out.

    TIA

    Jim

For 28 cents (or less), I'd just replace them. After 17 years, they'll never fit right if you reuse them.

It's a spread rivet. Just pull the center pin up to release the spread part and wiggle the whole thing out. When you're ready, reinsert it with the pin up, then push the pin down to lock it in place. A new one certainly is nice if you have the time and a dealer nearby, but it really won't fit any better than an old one. Good luck.
